Here I am...at the World Changer Reality Boot Camp. How did I arrive here? I don't know, all I know is that at first I was really excited about the program. Then I agonized about whether or not to submit an application for this opportunity. Then I decided to take the easy way out and just be a behind the scenes participant so I could follow along at my own pace. Yes, that was the right way for me. Then I found myself reading part of a quote by Jim Rohn, an author and speaker, that made me stop in my tracks. He said: "You cannot make progress without making decisions". I realized then that by taking the easy way out I was setting myself up for possible failure. So, I made a decision to submit the application and to be accountable for my actions.
I am so glad that I did because I was offered and I accepted one of the alternate positions for this Reality Boot Camp. Here is my response to the offer e-mail:
Yes! I am honored to participate in and accept one of the alternate spots for the MPM World Changer Reality Boot Camp. I am excited and nervous at this opportunity as I am a more private person and the thought of being or possibly being in a glass bowl is overwhelming but I figure if I can do this, then I can do just about anything. My MPM business deserves the best that I can be just as if I was working for my boss. I believe this Boot Camp with the accountability will be the refining process. There is No Room for Excuses Here! So, onward to the Adventure!
This is Day 1 of the World Changer Reality Boot Camp.
I am excited and nervous at the same time as this adventure will require me to step out of my comfort zone. But I am ready and willing to do what is asked of me to help build the path towards the $2000.00 in 60 days. Ginny has asked us to go out in our community and talk to 5 people per day and give them an invitation to our World Changer business opportunity and ask them for their contact information, to include: Their Name, Phone Number, and E-mail Address. How long did it take? Well like Ginny said on our call today, that depends on us. Some people will find this easy and take no time at all, while some may find it difficult and take longer. After our teleconference this morning I began working on the invitation cards and cleaning the house and making dinner so I could go out in the evening to get my 5 contacts. I began my journey and found that it took me 3 hours to get my 5 contacts. While, I have no problem conversing with people, however, when it comes time to start a conversation with a stranger to introduce the business.....well.....you guessed it.....I got lock jaw and tongue tied. Now, I spoke to more than 5 people but some were just not interested and told me so up front and I can recall that happening about 4 times. No problem....Next! I had 1 person to actually consider it and contemplated the idea but said that she was not comfortable giving out her contact information to strangers. I found that that was ok too. I told her to keep the invitation and if she found that she wanted to know more, she could contact me when she was ready....Next! I also had 1 person who took the invitation and read both sides and then said no, I don't think I'm really that interested cause I never shop online....Next! I had one person to tell me that they were interested in making money from home but was not interested in any internet type business cause there are no reputable internet businesses out there. I wished them luck in finding a profitable home based business, thanked them for their time, and went on my way. Now, the reason I did this is that I felt that it was not in my best interest to continue on if they already have the mindset that internet businesses are not reputable and its not my job to sell them. Where did I go to talk to people? I went to Wal Mart and spoke to all but two people at this store. I felt that it was time to go as I had practically walked the entire store about 3 or 4 times but I needed one more contact so I stopped at a local gas station with no luck there and then went to the McDonald's Drive Thru to get something to drink for my drive home and at the last minute I asked the cashier if she might be interested in making some extra income and she said yes. I left McDonald's a happy camper as I had finally landed my 5Th contact and could go home. I was determined to get all 5 today and I succeeded. In all, I guess I talked to about 13 people and now as I am writing this, I can't believe that it took me three hours to do it. One thing for sure, during this Boot Camp I will be seeking to develop a better skill set in the introduction and sign up process and maybe find some oil to work on the lock jaw and tongue twister (Ha Ha). I am looking forward to tomorrow taking a shorter time frame in getting my 5 new contacts and I believe that as the days go by, we all will begin to understand the "Power of 5". Till tomorrow...
Have an awesome day on purpose!
