Day 18 - WC Reality Boot Camp

Every time when you think you've got the best home based business to work with something happens...it just gets better and better. When you think you have a great way to present your business, another great idea keeps popping up from everywhere and is shared among us all. When someone is a little discouraged along the way, people come alongside them and lift their spirit and gives encouragement to continue on. When you get your contact information and then work on the follow up only to experience loss of interest or no response and things just seem to fizzle out and you can't figure it out, there is someone there who helps shed a light on what needs to be corrected or changed or tweaked and gives instruction with examples. There are some things I can and will change to see if it makes a difference. This evening I read again the invitation card and I couldn't find anything on this invitation card that is not true.

So for everyone I have spoken to within the past couple of weeks lets ponder a few things. What are your needs? Are they being met? How is the economy affecting you? What are you doing now to minimize the affect of the economy? How can My Power Mall benefit you? What can I do to help you? Have you watched the business presentation?

I believe that we have the answer to your needs. I believe we offer hope to everyone. I believe that if I can do this, then anyone can but it is not about what I believe....It's about what you need.

I am making a difference in my life and you can too because My Power Mall is a division of Together We Can Change The World, Inc. If you haven't yet taken a look at the business presentation, take a moment and check it out here. Until next time...

Have an awesome day on purpose!

Day 17 - WC Reality Boot Camp

It's another day in the neighborhood and there are still so many things to do and people to share My Power Mall with. Each day for this Reality Boot Camp we are to make our contacts and follow up and I realized this evening that I really need to get all my contacts right here within my community and I had already talked to two people but as they are not from the community I shouldn't count them. So, after I completed my scheduled calls, I printed out invitation cards and gathered my jacket and keys and proceeded to go out to get my 5 contacts. When I got into my car, I said a quick prayer and asked for guidance as to where to go. I really did not want to go all the way to Wal Mart and was trying to think of places to go that would be closer and I thought of the Exxon Gas Station just up the road. I didn't know how late it stays open, but I remember it being open late night a few nights ago when I was coming home. I decided to head in that direction and if it was closed, then I would just continue on to Wal Mart.

An answer to prayer! As I turned into the Exxon parking lot, there were two gentlemen talking just outside the Exxon Store and there were a group of young men talking by one of the gas pumps. I pulled up to the store and as I was getting out of my car, one of the gentlemen seemed to be getting ready to go so I just said "Excuse me sir, if I could have just a moment with you and your friend I really need to share something with you if you don't mind". They asked if it would take long and I said no, just a few questions. In the end, one gentleman said no, he wasn't interested and said good bye and went home. The other gentleman I learned actually worked at the gas station and he gave me his contact information. I then went to approach the group of young men at the gas pumps as they were still talking and asked the same thing and explaining that I really needed to share this information with people from the community for the boot camp and in the end, all four gentlemen said that they would take a look. One young man is already a blogger so if you are reading this, go check out the website. We had a really nice conversation and I found out that they were just in the neighborhood and that their little hangout was not planned. Wow! Now, how often does something like that happen? Needless to say this was my record time as the whole process just took me 30 minutes.

Look, if you haven't yet checked out a home based business, I urge you to do so. Even Robert Kiyosaki, Donald Trump, Bob Proctor and many others recommend home based businesses. Do your homework but most of all make a decision. As Jim Rohn, an author and speaker once said "You cannot make progress without making decisions". Come join me in the boot camp journey as we progress to $2000.00 per month within 60 days. Until tomorrow...

Have an awesome day on purpose!

Day 16 - WC Reality Boot Camp

Hi!

Somewhere along this path, I believe I have mentioned that I take care of my grandchildren during the day and whenever the need arises due to Military Schedules. Our family has only been here in North Carolina since July of this year and I found a Library about fifteen minutes from our home that has story time for Preschoolers every Tuesday morning so I have decided that we will make this a weekly field trip. There is a Family Resource Center next door to the Library and I ventured into the building today and spoke to several people there. In particular, one of the offices in this building is the Social Services Office and I went in and spoke with the 3 families sitting in the waiting area and not a single one of them was interested in the least about what they could do with $2000.00 and one lady said that she couldn't even imagine having it so was not interested and didn't have time for anything. I left that office in amazement that there are people who have time to sit in an office to collect Welfare and Food Stamps but not have time or any interest in learning or hearing of how they could have an opportunity to make money and make a difference in their life. Wow! After story time, I treated my grandson to McDonald's for lunch and let him play with any kids who may be there too. This is the only time he gets to play with boys as his other siblings are girls. Last week, I was able to get a few contacts during our time out but today it just was not going to happen. I am finding that when I talk to Military families their first and immediate reaction is "no, we are military" and sometimes you just can't get past that...so, I count them as practice and continue on and today was one of those days. I was able to speak with a lady who is a new first time mommy of a 5 month old son and she seemed excited to hear more about this business but she does not have an email so I can not count her officially as a contact. As a matter of fact, I have several contacts without emails and I just continue to call them and will do so until I am able to make contact again to see if they have had a chance to look at the presentation and get their thoughts and questions taken care of so we can proceed forward with them.

So what to do on days like this? Do not despair, I have also mentioned that I have prior lead contacts that I have not yet called upon...and you guessed it! Once again, I settle in for some phone dialing. Now, I can remember when not too long ago, it took me forever to pick up the phone and make that first call. I went through 2 World Changer Clinics to help me push past my fear and help me with calling leads. Now after doing this for two months the process is so much easier so this is just another example of how I know that the process of talking with strangers person to person will get easier too. Now I may have to make 10 - 20 calls or more to get someone to talk to but I just keep at it until I can make the contacts. It is the same process with talking to people on the street. I will continue to go out and try to get my contacts on a daily basis because this is my business and I know within my heart that there are people out there who not only need this opportunity but who will understand it and I will find them.

Go out and have an awesome day on purpose!

Day 15 - WC Reality Boot Camp

Hello everyone!

I stuck to my plan and went out during the weekend and did some practice starting up conversations and I have to say, that it was so much easier when I told myself to just practice. I even had a young lady say hi to me first! This definitely helped make my Monday (today) much easier than last Monday and I will continue this throughout the boot camp and going forward.

I achieved my 5 today. Four are from going out to talk with the masses about My Power Mall and one who has her own business making beaded jewelry and is a contact that I have had for over a year but never thought of for this business until today when Linda B. came onto the morning boot camp call and shared what she is doing with businesses. Duh!

Folks, I know that we have mainly talked about individuals (at least I have) but there is a market for the mom and pop businesses out there as well as the major businesses and what an ingenious idea from Linda B. who is talking to her business people about the Local Merchant advertising that is free with their World Changer Mall. I know that I have a few contacts I will be working on getting to and will be making an even larger list to start working on all while still going out and talking to the masses.

If you are a business owner or an individual reading this and you want to know more about this topic, I invite you to watch the movie.

Saturday, I read Jeans blog and she really put everything in perspective for me so I am beginning week 3 satisfied with where I am at because I know that as I continue to add contacts to my list and just keep following up, I will be creating momentum and momentum has no where to go but to explosion when the time is right.

Until tomorrow...

Have an awesome day on purpose!

Day 12 - WC Reality Boot Camp

TGIF! Today was challenging again. We had a great call with Ginny this morning and I am working on changing my outlook. It is still a little stressful as I am trying to get my chat on, but all in all I do believe that I am beginning to get a little bit more comfortable with at least getting a conversation going. There have been a few times that I have not been able to bring My Power Mall into the conversation but I feel like that is ok because I am still learning to converse with strangers. I found that even though I went out each day last week and secured 5 contacts each day, I am finding in the follow up process that many did not give me their real information and that is ok. I can still count them as my skill training exercises. I did have a contact return my call today and he said that he was still interested but just hasn't had a chance to take a look at the online presentation and I sent him an e-mail with the link to the business website and will continue to follow up with him.

I did go out this evening for 4 hours and was able to get one solid contact using the three question script of 1) if you had it, what would you do with an extra $2000? 2) what would you do with an extra $2000 per month)? Then a brief explanation of the Reality Boot Camp and My Power Mall rebate shopping mall and American Express Gift Card program and then 3) would you mind giving me your name, phone number, and e-mail address so I can get you more information? Here is my invitation card with my contact information and my business presentation website and by the way, when would be the best time to give you a call to follow up with you? I was speaking to a young couple with three children and the husband is in the military and her response was yeah but we are military. I responded with, my daughter and son-in-law is too. In keeping it plain and simple, do you buy groceries? She said yes. I then asked her if she knew of at least 5 people who buy groceries, to which she said no, I only know of 2. Then her husband said yes, I know of a number of people who do. Then his wife wrote down her information for me and said that I could call them anytime this weekend to follow up with them and that they would take a look at the website.

This was the first time I used this approach and I found that I really like it. I have been meaning to use it all week, but kept leaving the script note at home and I have been too nervous to use it without being able to review it. I left the house again today without it and just told myself that I had read it enough and to just try it. I believe this is a powerful way to introduce My Power Mall to people as I could see that she was already thinking of what she could do with the extra money and I think that is why people are more inclined to give out their information. They are already in the mode of creating their why to do this business. Most other people I spoke with tonight I had used the original script and wasn't getting anywhere so that is why I just decided to just give the new script a try and yes, I did flub up a little bit but was still able to get the contact and have a nice conversation with this couple. It was getting late so I had to get home but I still needed to work on getting 4 more contacts so I brought out my lead contact list and began to make phone calls to get them. I know some say you don't have to stop at five, but when I have spent 4 hours working on it, when I reach that 5Th contact, I am ready to say this is good. At least I am still creating momentum and I have reached my goal and I know that if I work at getting my 5 per day then I am making progress. A day will come, when I go out and find it as easy as 123 to get 5 and more contacts. It will be like second nature and I wont even be thinking about it because it will just happen naturally...that is the day I am looking forward to. How long will it take to get there? I don't know, everyone is different. All I know is...there are participants in this boot camp who are finding it easier to complete the process and get 5 and more contacts per day and if they can do it, then I know that I can do it too. I will not be slacking off this weekend...until next time...

Have an awesome day on purpose!

Day 11 - WC Reality Boot Camp

Today is my father's birthday. He turned 75 years old. I am so grateful to have him as my daddy. He has been a great dad and I love him dearly. My daughters both say that they have the best grandfather that anyone could ever hope for. My dad told me today that his doctor says that he should be able to live to be 100 years old. To which I responded "good, I'll accept that as I am not yet ready to let go". You see, for the boot camp, I chose to promote a business for my dad who is retired with just a small fraction of his retirement savings left leaving them vulnerable to being wiped out in an emergency situation. He doesn't know it yet, but when the time comes, I will present him with a nice gift as a token of my appreciation of the years he spent working 7 days a week and up to 12 hours per day and even more during the harvest. Yes, he was a farmer who worked his way up to Superintendent of Farms for a Family Farming Company who had ranches, orchards, and vineyards covering a large area of central California. He has been retired now for only 3 years. Building a business for my dad also supports a Foundation that gives scholarships for college, emergency funds for single parents, support for a youth shelter and a local food bank. I am honored to be a member of a business that not only gives itself but allows each and every one of us to give in return to make a difference. Together We Can Change The World.

Well not much happened according to plan today except for scheduled meetings. I was supposed to go out to some stores this afternoon as I have a gift that I need to exchange because I ordered it in the wrong color. Just when I thought I had that one right, wouldn't you know it...my teen age daughter decided that she now likes............oops! I better not say this one just yet. She just might decide to read my blog and then she would have a pretty good idea of what's in store for her. Anyway, my other daughter had gone out to do some quick shopping and took longer than planned. Needless to say, one thing pushed into another until you guessed it, I ran out of time. I only had a few minutes to run into a store to get fish food and I thought I would try to get at least one contact, but the only words I could get out of my mouth were "Hi". I got back to the house in time for dinner and my evening meeting and since I wouldn't be able to go back out this evening, I decided to once again go into some contact info I had prior to boot camp and was able to find my 5 contacts. Now on the phone and even in person, people sound like they are pretty interested and say that they will view the presentation, but so far it doesn't appear to be happening. I will have to continue with follow up calls and short teaser e-mails like "do you buy groceries and gasoline" and "do you know 5 people who buy groceries and gasoline" and would you like to know how to get a rebate and make money on your purchases and your friends purchases" and see how the response is. Another idea for a teaser e-mail would be "do you spend $100 and more per month on gasoline" and "do you know 5 people who spend $100 and more per month on gasoline" and would you like to know how you can get $25 per month of free gasoline over the course of 1 year? That's a total of $300 in gas purchases for free! So, I'll keep on stirring the pot (follow up on contacts) and adding more seasoning (5 contacts) until the recipe is just right (10 people to work with). Tomorrow I am going to try to get out to get my exchange done early and I also have to go to the post office and with any luck, I'll come home the first time with my 5. Until then...

Have an awesome day on purpose!

Day 10 - WC Reality Boot Camp

Ok, so it is really really really hard to get back in the groove. Last week I set my mind to not give up until I get my 5 contacts and I didn't. As I didn't go out over the weekend, it has now become doubly hard to talk to anyone. After you get so many rejections, you just don't want to open your mouth again. You start to analyze everyone you look at, then your mind starts to play tricks with you and it just gets exhausting. So after two hours of this at the mall I decided to just start walking and look at everyone and if I make eye contact, then just say "Hi" or say "Hi, how are you" and if anyone began talking to me then I would work towards introducing My Power Mall. Well, that didn't work very well. I found that most people will say "Hi" back to you and just keep walking and even those who are kinda lingering will say "Hi" but the conversation doesn't go much further than that. I don't want to use this as a crutch, but I have to break the barrier somehow and I figure that if I can just get comfortable at saying "Hi" and say it all the time, then it will become second nature and if the conversation continues, then I will be soooooooooo glad. The other thing I struggle with is that for the most part I am not shopping for anything and so I think that I begin to feel as if I am stalking people rather than letting the experience be natural and then I begin to stress over it. Let's face it, I really do not have anything to shop for because I have already completed my shopping and I did it in My Power Mall and the Malls of my children and grandchildren. Wait, I almost forgot...I have not yet purchased gifts for my dad, step mother, sister and brother-in-law; however, I do not have to go out shopping for them either as they are all getting American Express Gift Cards that will probably be purchased within my teen age daughters Power Mall so that they can go out and spend it on what they need to spend it on. No, I'm not worried that any of them may hear about what they are getting because my dad and step mother do not have a computer and my sister and brother-in-law have a computer, but they can't get online because my sister did something to it and they have not been able to figure it out or get the help to figure it out. Anyway, did I get my 5 contacts at the mall? Unfortunately, not...but I will not give up. I did however have a chance to speak with a nice lady at the gas station and gave her an invitation card but she did not have an email address but gave me her name and phone number and said that this sounds like something that her husband might would be interested in. I seem to be getting plenty of the partial contacts this week as this I believe was the 6Th one. In the end, I returned home dejected but spent some time at my desk regrouping my thoughts and then began to work on some leads that I had prior to the beginning of this boot camp and finally got my 5 contacts. I am still without any sign ups but I am determined to carry on.

Why continue? I believe in this business and get the total picture as vividly as if it were imprinted in black and white upon my desk. Screeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaach! Wait just a minute. I just got it! It just came to me that I am focusing on the wrong thing. Even as I am writing this blog, I am thinking about the rejections. I seem to be focused on why all the no's and not interested rather than the power of 5. Ok, I resolve to wipe the slate clean and go out tomorrow with a focus on the power of 5 and that my goal is to obtain 5 contacts today and I think that I will turn all my no's and not interested into nope, not the right person. Yeah, I think that sounds better and it just might work for me. Until tomorrow...

Have an awesome day on purpose!

Day 9 - WC Reality Boot Camp

I am working on catching up my blogs. Things seem to be working now so here it goes!

December 2, 2008

After Monday I was really hoping for a better day. In many ways it was better. I had a number of people say they were not interested and then a couple of people who said that they might would be interested but was uncomfortable about giving me their contact information so I gave them my invitation so that they could still take a look at My Power Mall and if interested, they would have my contact information and I invited them to follow along with our blogs.

I met a really nice lady at Wal Mart in the Deli Section where they also serve the prepared food. The cashier asked to help me and I said that this lady and gentleman were here before me but they all said that they were waiting. Wal Mart didn't have what I was looking for and when I turned to leave with my grandson, I said to the lady "by the way, it must be pretty good if you are willing to wait for it. She said that it was and proceeded to tell me all about it. We had a really nice conversation and it lead to me sharing My Power Mall with her. She told me that she didn't know a single thing about computers and wouldn't even know the first thing about how to go about getting an email address. I chuckled and told her that was ok. Then she said but my daughter does and she could get on it and I could look at it with her. She didn't know her daughters email address so just gave me her name and phone number. This was a very comfortable conversation and I really enjoyed talking with her.

I had a very similar experience when my grandson and I went to McDonald's for lunch. My grandson doesn't get to play with other boys very much since he has two sisters and since there was a little boy there playing, I decided to hang around awhile to let them play. Eventually I began speaking with the other little boys grandmother and I was able to introduce My Power Mall during our conversation and had the same experience with her about not doing anything with computers but she has a teen age daughter who does and so she gave me their names and phone number as she didn't know her daughters email and we are going to meet up again next Tuesday at McDonald's for play time for the boys. A young man came in and sat with the nice lady I was talking to and he became interested and ... you guessed it! I got my full contact with this one! I am looking forward to following up with everyone I spoke with today. This was by far my most comfortable day so far and maybe that's the secret ingredient, being in a comfortable conversation. Time will tell. It seems to be harder to get back in the groove of achieving 5 contacts per day once you missed a couple of days especially since it was not so easy to begin with. I think I have learned my lesson and will just tell myself that I have somewhere to go and someone to talk to each and every day. Until next time...

Have an awesome day on purpose!

Day 8 - Wc Reality Boot Camp

Here we are after the first weekend, I have to admit that I did not go anywhere during the weekend and found today that it was very hard to get out there and make the contacts. Striking up conversations was tough and most people were not very responsive and after two hours of I'm not interested, I don't have a computer, and no, that's not for me that I have to admit that I just gave up for the day and went back to the house for comfort.

I decided to make some phone calls and left 10 messages but no contacts. I then made follow up phone calls and ended up leaving voice mails without catching anyone home. I am a little disappointed today but I believe in what I have to offer and I will not stop getting out there and trying.

Did I get my 5 today? No, but I did get 1. This afternoon someone knocked on the door and when I approached the door and didn't see anyone I figured that it was either the mail person or the UPS person delivering a package. When I opened the door, I looked for packages at the door step and didn't see any packages but a movement caught my eye and a gentleman stepped forward from the walkway and asked me if I was familiar with Empire Frozen foods. Needless to say that before I let him go, I told him that I know that this is a hard time of the year for many people and he agreed so I gave him my invitation card and told him about the Reality Boot Camp and My Power Mall helping people make money from their everyday purchases and that I am looking for 10 people to work with. He asked me if this was something that he and his wife could do? I told him absolutely yes! He gave me his companies web address information and his personal contact information. Oh yeah! So, I feel a little better now. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. Until next time...

Have an awesome day on purpose!

Day 5 - WC Reality Boot Camp

Hi!

Sorry for such a late post! I just realized that in all the hoopla and still problems with uploading a video to YouTube, I missed posting my blog for last Friday, November 28th.

First I want to say that I truly hope that everyone reading this blog had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day! I know that I am very Thankful for my family, friends, renewed friendships, acquaintances, business associates, and for My Power Mall and Together We Can Change the World, Inc. and the opportunities that this business offers to each and everyone who gets the vision and makes a decision to make a difference in their world and the world around them.

Black Friday, was a very busy day. You would think that it would be rather easy to get many contacts on this auspicious day with most everyone out shopping and taking advantage of the sales and specials from merchants.

Our family went to a Christmas Tree Farm somewhere near Raleigh, NC and it was so much fun. We came home with a most beautiful tree to decorate. I thought that it would be easy to chat with some people there but most people were more interested in finding the just right tree. I went on a hayride with my grandchildren thinking maybe I could approach someone then. But to my surprise, no one would even make eye contact. A nice lady sitting next to me told me a little about the Tree Farm but when she finished she turned back to her daughter so I decided to enjoy the ride with my grandchildren.

On our way home from the Tree Farm we stopped at a Wal Mart and once again I found it hard to approach people. Most people seemed to be in such a hurry that I felt I would be interfering in their progress if I interrupted them and some people were involved in group conversations about choosing this or that and so on with so much hustle and bustle and no interest in chatting with a stranger. The first several times that I did get in a "Hi my name is Susan", I was quickly cut off with "I'm not interested".

What to do? I decided to just practice smiling at everyone I made eye contact with and just say Hi! At least some people smiled back and said Hi as they whisked by and soon thereafter I decided to call it quits for a while and go on home.

At home, it was decorating the Christmas Tree time and soon we realized that we needed a few more supplies, so guess who said yes to going out to the store. I still needed to get my five contacts so off I went to a different Wal Mart. Yes, this seems to be our favorite store too. I'm glad I went as it was in the evening and more people seemed to be responding and I was able to complete my five contacts for the day and had a great conversation with an Army Mom shopping with her two sons. She will be deploying next year and I would be honored if she chose to become a member. I am very grateful to all the men and women who give of their lives every day in the Military for our Country and our Freedom.

I have sent out follow up emails to my contacts so far this week and have tried to make contact on the phone to no avail so I will continue to make phone calls on Monday the 1st of December and may even send out ecards as well. I have received some hits on the biz site, but no members have signed up yet. The operative word here it Yet!

Until next time, have an awesome day on purpose! :o)
